Roaring 20s @ The Landmark Theatre!

Not only are our pieces fabulous for weddings and photo shoots, but consider us for your corporate events as well.  Check out these displays from the KS&R holiday party held at Syracuse’s own Landmark Theater.  The fabulous 1920s Empire Boardwalk inspired theme was perfect for this venue and our pieces.  Our trunks, shoe rack, furniture cart, dressers and suitcases displayed dishes, silverware and dessert while props like wooden buckets, trunks and books set the scene.  The star, however, was the House beverage cart which created an authentic vignette that set the mood for party goers.

Showcase @ The Events Company

We recently hooked up with The Events Company located right here in Syracuse, NY.  When Nicole and company invited us to bring some of our favorite things to play, we just couldn’t resist.  We set up a lovely sweetheart tablescape with our chippy paint farm table and china and dressed it up with some cork-filled mason jars.  We also set up our tall boy, which we love to use as a place for signing the guest book at any special event.  Paired with shutters for table cards, we think it makes the perfect welcome area.  Topped off with some books, scrabble letters and suitcases to complete the rustic, vintage look, we think it’s perfect.

The showroom at The Events Company is filled with beautiful displays and we love being a part of it.  Come check us out along with Nicole’s other great exhibits at 230 Harrison Street, Syracuse, NY. Keep in mind that we will be changing out our items every few weeks if you need an excuse to keep going back!

Holiday Nostalgia

The holiday season is absolutely the best.  What we love most is the gathering together of the people who mean the most.  Of course when that happens we throw ourselves into party preparation mode and that’s when it really becomes fun.  Sometimes you don’t have to go far to find the the best inspiration.

Erica here…in my case it’s my parents’ Cape Cod on the hill.  Last week I traveled to my small Central New York hometown to spend Thanksgiving with my extended family.  Whenever I walk through my parents’ home I am inspired all over again and am reminded where my love for antiques was born (quite literally).  Their home is filled with countless vintage treasures like old ink wells and feather pens, glass bottles, copper boilers, an antique sewing machine and a roll top desk.  They have vintage lunch boxes and china cabinets and porcelain jugs just to add a few.  Virtually every corner and surface is home to another wonderful piece.

I love to hear my parents tell of their weekend trips to Madison-Boukville to treasure hunt “before us kids came along,” and I guess it’s true the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree because here we are today.  During these holidays I am thankful for my family and the love of vintage they imparted on me.

Harvest Shoot

Who doesn’t love fall, especially in apple country? I mean, really, there is inspiration everywhere you look.  The crispness of the air, the rustic color scheme, dried greenery and the promise of approaching holidays are enough to put anyone in the  mood to curl up, get closer, reconnect and unwind.

This week we teamed up with Kate Lemos Brown, Mabyn Ludke and the Lincklaen House in beautiful Cazenovia, NY to style a harvest-inspired dining experience with a little vintage flair.  Stay tuned as we share the fruits (no pun intended) of our collaborative energies in the upcoming weeks;  and be sure to check out Thanksgiving week for pictures, inspiration and DIY tips to recreate this fabulous look for your own holiday entertainment endeavors!
